I had my last official service at Karori Anglican Church on Sunday night. After three and a half years on staff, and five years as part of the community, farewells are hard.
I don't like goodbyes.
A lot of people said a lot of nice things. Too many nice things. I hope to remember them, to treasure them. I wish i could believe them.
The work is far from done. The opportunities slip away. The dream remains.
January looms ahead as a busy month of preparation, packing, camping. And then moving.
I have much to savor. Moments, glimpses, smiles, friendships.
"I say 'ka kite ano' and leave it at that."
