I’m up for a challenge

I like to be challenged. Usually.

Following discussionns with Scottie Reeve this week, I decided it was time to shake myself outside of the comforts of preaching. If I’m honest, my attempts at preaching are all to often marred by lack of preparation and the remnants of a strong desire to please. Preaching doesn’t scare me enough. This fact scares me.

So tonight, I decided something different was in order. So I read the Bible. Out loud. Three chapters. Matthew 5 to Matthew 7. The words of Jesus. That’s all.

As a conniseur of sermons, I have heard too many that have had no impact on me. It was good to go back to the source.

Some things will never be improved on.
