lent bent

The anglican in me is taking great delight in some of the wonderful traditions and rhythms that have been passed down through the centuries.

Today marks the first day of lent. For me this marks a period of denying myself a little to celebrate God's goodness. By going without, somehow i become a little more human, a little cleaner, a little more peaceful.

So this year i am following an amended "Daniel fast" – going without meat, caffiene, fizzy, cheese and sweets until easter.

And already i want a hamburger.
