Sums up the whole issue really nicely.It also explains why some people have such negative reactions to emerging church ideas – because at the root of the whole thing they can feel their theology being challenged, and most evangelical christians find that very uncomfortable. It seems to me that part of the culture of evangelical christianity is the idea that the church’s theology is right and not to be questioned or challenged. Eg. the preacher’s role is to impart truth and easy answers (5 steps to effective prayer etc…), rather than to lead the people on in the exploration of the mysteries of God.
